A few months ago, the company, which changed its name from Facebook to Meta, developed a special and powerful supercomputer for artificial intelligence (AI) that, at its infancy, became one of the world’s fastest supercomputers. I’m counting. This supercomputer has been named ‘AI Research Super Cluster’ (AI RSC).
What is the speed of this supercomputer? This has not been mentioned in the relevant blog on Facebook AI, but it is known that it has been developed by integrating 6,080 state-of-the-art A100 GPUs of the Nvidia company. ۔
Over the next few months, it will add another 10,000 GPUs, making it the world’s most powerful supercomputer in the field of artificial intelligence.
Even in its current state, it is second to none because thanks to its Quantum Infinity Band network, it can transmit data at speeds of up to 200 gigabits per second.
Speaking of memory, it has the capacity to store as much as 175 p-bytes (175,000 terabytes) of data. Its cache is up to 46 p-bytes, while under the Network File System (NFS) it can store as much as 10 p-bytes of data.
During recent trials, AIRSC trained models related to the natural language three times faster than the company’s previous supercomputers, while looking around to ‘understand’ Showed 20 times faster.
Using the extraordinary power of their computing on extremely large data (big data), it recognizes objects in images and scenes, identifies specific words in conversations, translates from one language to another, and spreads false information and hatred on social media. It will also be able to perform tasks such as rapid training of algorithms that identify provocative content.
Some experts say that this and other similar supercomputers will also be used for ‘Metaverse’ for which Facebook has changed its name to ‘Meta’. At the moment, however, this is just speculation.
