Instagram has introduced a new pause option under the pop-up for users who spend unnecessary time on the app.
Instagram announced the day before the crackdown on law enforcement, which includes some more options. It has previously been offered in the United States and the United Kingdom.
It will then be offered to consumers all over the world, including Canada and Australia.
Users can open this option by going to Settings. This way 10 minutes, 20 minutes, and 30 minutes can be used. After opening the option, a full-screen alert appears asking you to close the app.
After that, you will be away from Instagram for a while and will be able to do other things.
However, an Instagram spokesperson said that this option has been introduced for teenage boys and girls. Many studies have shown that the rate of wasting time using Instagram is very high and psychologists have also linked it to new disorders.
In this way, the extent of using Instagram can now be determined. The company also said it was considering the option to delete a large number of videos, posts, and photos at once.
Adam Missouri, head of Instagram, acknowledged that the option was offered exclusively to teenagers. In addition, Instagram will also create an educational platform within the app, through which parents will be informed about social media. In this way, parents will be able to talk to their children on other platforms, including Instagram.
It is noteworthy that Francis Hogan, a journalist who warned about the harmful effects of Instagram and Facebook, after looking at dozens of leaked Facebook internal documents, said that these documents themselves admit that when teenage boys and girls take pictures of others on Instagram.
They develop a sense of inferiority regarding physical health and self-esteem. This makes them anxious and depressed.
Then the issue came up so much that it reached Congress and now soon the concerned agencies will ask questions from Instagram.
